Heather & Matt brought their own sunshine to their big day! Even though the rain kept the plans for the day up in the air, everyone was full of smiles and easy-going attitudes as they got ready and watched the radar in anticipation. Since the rain wouldn’t give way, we staged their first look at the DoubleTree in Syracuse, NY. Exactly where they would say “I do” and party with their guests afterwards. It was totally okay, because the first look is all about capturing the facial expressions of the person seeing the love of his or her life dressed to the nines for the first time! We totally were able to do that in a random hallway, and it was so sweet! Afterwards, the rain stopped for a while, so we were able to take family and the bridal party outside to a garden nook on the venue grounds.

We enjoyed working at the DoubleTree. They made the evening flow very well and the decor was impeccable. Heather and Matt made their ceremony space look magical with uplighting and an arbor draped with twinkle lights. It was a very personal ceremony, as a pastor that has known the two of them a very long time took the honor. She presented them with a toolbox full of tools to prepare them for marriage. It gave everyone some heartwarming laughs.

Heather & Matt absolutely smashed their first dance together! Everyone was captivated as they got down to Panic! At the Disco’s “Death of a Bachelor,” an upbeat tune that gave this tradition a refreshing take. They gave everyone a good laugh when they smashed cake in each other’s faces during the cake cutting as well. Dare we say the day overall was… smashing? hehehe.
