SHP Winter Series | Wedding Florals to Welcome Spring!

For our final installment of the 2nd annual SHP Winter Series, we’re warming things up a bit with all things wedding florals!! Bouquets and boutonnieres are time-tested wedding tradition staples. While their purpose has changed from function (adding a lovely smell to the special lad & lady) to mostly style and beauty, couples continue to include them in the festivities. With an endless variety to chose from, flowers are often used to decorate the ceremony and reception space as well! Florals are one of several elements couples take the time selecting and coordinating, so it’s integral to the photography set to get some styled images of them. The SHP 2017 season included a lot of pinks, purples, whites, and reds, as you’ll see below!

I very much enjoyed curating these Winter Series posts once again! We hope they were enjoyable and informative for our readers! Team SHP strives to be not only the best fit photographers for our clients but also well-informed wedding professionals with info at the ready to help our clients wherever possible in planning their Best Day Ever! We will continue to post throughout the Spring, and just like last season, we’ll be featuring every 2018 wedding too. By the way, we just finished collaborating with Kim at Whistlestop Florist about all things boutonnières. We finally answer one of the most common questions we get on wedding days – “how do you pin this dang thing on!?” hehe. Can’t wait to share!

We hope this final installment of the SHP Winter Series helps you to think lots of thoughts of Spring (crocus! magnolia tree blossoms! bright yellow forsythia! tulips of all the colors!) and all the joy and renewal this time of year can bring.

Now for one last look back at Sarah’s Best Day Ever (for this year, at least! 😉 ). Here’s how Tom Harmon captured her bouquet and Tim’s boutonniere. Sarah spent a lot of time and care, working with Anita at North Country Florist to bring her vision to life – lots of color and hops! She incorporated beer bottle caps specific to each bridal party member too (she’s not particularly a Belgian beer fan, though, she just loves gnomes, hehe)!
