The Cannery, Vernon, NY | Liz + David are Married!

Team SHP started the season off with Liz and David’s warm and thoughtful wedding day at The Cannery in Vernon, NY. It was certainly warm in more ways than one! Not only was it on the loveliest, sunniest day of the year yet, the people surrounding Liz and David were so welcoming of us and supportive of the soon-to-be newlyweds.

Liz and her ladies had a relaxing morning in the getting ready space of The Cannery as they sipped mimosas. When Sarah arrived, she found all the ladies’ dresses hanging and waiting for their photo opportunity. Liz handed off her heirloom jewelry to Sarah to be photographed soon after. She chose to wear her mother’s necklace, and her engagement ring used to be her grandmothers on her mom’s side. How very sweet!

Meanwhile, Jenn caught up with David and his men getting ready at a hotel minutes away. David and his best man Adam helped everyone put the finishing touches on their light grey ensembles. David donned a white vest and tie, his best man Adam was fitted with a tangerine tie, and the rest of the guys wore sage green ones – a perfect Spring palette. Each guy was a total gentleman and kept offering to help Jenn carry things as they made their way to The Creekside Inn for some photographs.

Once formal photographs of each side of the wedding party were complete, it was time for Liz and David to see each other for the first time that day at opposite ends of the ceremony aisle! They married under the authority of their church pastor (and wedding guest) John Keating, on the grounds of The Cannery in front of their family and friends. With their vows sealed with a kiss, it was time for their first photographs as husband and wife!

The couples’ guests were greeted by hand passed hors d’oeuvre as they mingled at the bar in the rustic reception space right after the ceremony. The reception details were thoughtfully infused with the couples’ personalities. Liz and David are avid runners and craft beer fans. They had a special beer brought in from Fulton Chain Craft Brewery, based in Old Forge NY,  to share with everyone at the reception. They decorated the cocktail tables with pint glasses filled with pretzels from FCC too! To add to the personal touches, David’s sister Jill and other family members made cookies to surround the cake for a very impressive dessert table display. Jill happily shared with us that the cookies present were some of the family’s Christmas traditions!

Since they are such big fans of craft beer, Sarah asked Liz and David to sidle up to the bar to make a few fun images during the dance party portion of the night. They canoodled for a few shots and then made it out on the dance floor for a polka – a family tradition of David’s. Well after the sun went down, The Cannery was warm with the celebration of Liz and David’s love! We enjoyed documenting their best day ever and are proud to share some highlights below.
