No matter how busy or messy life gets, it’s the little moments you spend together that make it all worth it: the tickle-fests, surprise bear hugs, sibling shenanigans, or enchantment of a bedtime book. A photojournalistic family session can help you create a joyful snapshot of your daily life and capture the magic of these ordinary moments!
While you go about your day-to-day activities and fam jam time, I’ll frame the love you all share. From playtime action shots to the creative details and expressive portraits, let’s document those fleeting moments that tug your hearts together, so the memories you hang on your walls will make you bust a smile even on the craziest days.
Before your teen-almost-adult goes off chasing their dreams, you’ve got a proud parent moment to celebrate! Whether you want unique images for grad announcements or to capture their youthful innocence before college happens, you know those awkward poses and boring backdrops in their school photos never did let their personality shine...
Enter me: A fun photographer who earns “cool” status with teens by virtue of her tattoos. My relaxed vibe builds your teen’s camera confidence and inspires natural smiles. They’ll get to be a part of the creative process and choose the wardrobe, locations, and props that express their style and interests, so we can bring out the best in them!
The first 48 hours in the hospital with your newborn is a whirlwind of doctors, nurses, feedings, changings, and family visits. As memorable as this milestone is, you know that nothing can prepare you for how much your baby is going to grow and change over the next few months. If only those toes could stay that tiny forever! Fresh 48 sessions give you a chance to capture those precious details that you want to hold close to your heart (and embarrass them with later in life when they bring over their high school crush for dinner).
Let’s document those adorable yawns. The way they wrap their pudgy fingers around yours like they never want to let go. And that sweet, wide-eyed way they look up at their proud big sis. Fresh 48 sessions require little to no prep (you just birthed a tiny human, I got you). I only use natural light, so you’ll look your glowy best, even if you haven’t slept in 24 hours. Plus, with a minimum of 40 images and only a 10 day processing time, you’ll have plenty of awww-worthy images to choose from for your birth announcements!
I can’t say enough about having our maternity, Fresh 48 and Newborn photos taken by Sarah Heppell Photography. Being able to look back at the time we spent in the hospital is really something we will treasure forever. She has an eye for detail that really made our photos special. Time goes so quickly after a baby is born, nothing could have prepared me for how different our son would look every day! I am so happy to have photos of Theo when he was 2 days old and almost 2 weeks old.
My favorite photos are the ones where we are together as a family of 3. Both in the hospital and out, this is our new normal! It makes me proud and emotional having captured this moment in time. I highly recommend doing a Fresh 48 and Newborn session to any new family because the beginning can be such a blur. 9 weeks later - or 9 months later - with a more clear head and bigger baby - I could not be happier to have these photos to look back on! Sarah is so talented and we will continue to use her for family photos in the future. 6 out of 5 stars!

The first days with your newborn baby in the hospital are a whirlwind of doctors, nurses, feedings, changings, family visits, and sleepless nights. Being first-time parents also added a nervous excitement to an experience my wife and I had been looking forward to since the day we got married. Leading up to the birth of Avery, we shared several conversations about what we were looking forward to in those first forty-eight hours--one of which included getting as many pictures of our daughter as possible. We were so happy to have our photographer, Sarah, come to the hospital for a fresh 48, and I was especially relieved because it took a little pressure off me to produce memorable photos with my cell phone camera. Sarah’s professionalism stood out to both of us as she was flexible and understanding throughout the entire process. We are so delighted with the pictures we have of our daughter and couldn’t wait to share them with all our loved ones. Those first days with Avery are surely ones we will never forget, but thanks to Sarah, we will be showing off photos of this experience for years to come.

Sarah has been taking pictures of our family for the past several years. Most recently, she was able to capture our newborn twins! She is patient, kind, and my daughter thinks she is absolutely hilarious (this makes for some awesome pictures!). My only regret is that I didn’t contact her sooner!!! The Mahardy Family loves SHP!!
