Carrie and Joe planned a sweet afternoon ceremony and reception picnic for their wedding day, and it went off without a hitch! We know Carrie and Joe through mutual friends, so it was an honor to be able to document their special day. If you’re a regular to our blog, you first met Carrie and Joe in our post about their engagement session. They asked for some traditional studio shots, and it may have gotten a little weird (in a good way).
After months of planning and getting to know each other more, SHP met up with Carrie and her ladies as they were getting ready in Carrie’s parent’s beautiful home on a hill in Fabius. If one stood outside and looked straight across on the magnificent scene, in the distance the home where Joe and his guys were getting ready could be seen. We were able to get a lot of portraiture done before the ceremony! As Jenn was photographing the guys outside, she’d notice Joe look off into the distance at the house his love was getting ready in. So sweet! The couple exchanged some gifts and then headed to the church to make things official.
The ceremony was as sweet as expected, and once the couple sealed the deal, congrats were given outside, during the receiving line. Soon after, everyone headed to Camp Brockway at Pratt’s Falls to celebrate by sharing their first meal as a married couple loved ones. Carrie and Joe’s thoughtful care could been seen in the details of the reception decor. Each table was decorated with found, varied glass vases containing purple florals. The twinkle lights brightened the space and added visual fun, for sure. The sweetheart table held their favorite drinking vessels. They included a memory table and even made every guest a mason jar of cookie mix with their signature recipe to take home!
Our favorite part of their wedding day by far had to be how they honored the long-lasting, loving relationships around them. After sharing their first dance, Carrie and Joe then honored their parents by playing the first dance songs from each of their weddings. We found this to be a sweet and unique way to celebrate all the love around (and an awesome opportunity for those adorable slow dance shots!).
Here are some highlights from Carrie and Joe’s best day ever!
Congratulations & Best Wishes, Mr. & Mrs. Powers!
