Succulent and Gold Accented Wedding at Marriott Downtown Syracuse

Tara and Gary’s entire wedding day took place at the historic, beautiful Marriott Syracuse Downtown. Tara and her girls took advantage of the hotel’s lovely bridal suite. They sipped on rosé and made each other laugh as the final touches to their hair and makeup were made. Sarah and the videographer, Morgan, had fun documenting the ladies in the spacious suite; Tara even popped champagne for everyone! Gary and his guys gathered in a room a couple floors down to get ready and were done in a flash (typical!!!). It wasn’t long before Gary was taking his place for The First Look.

Gary stood on the balcony overlooking the grand ballroom, where shortly, he’d be exchanging vows with Tara, and anticipated his bride’s arrival. Once they shared their tender first look moment, it was time to create some portraits of the two of them. The hotel has photogenic, architecturally interesting nooks at every turn! Sarah and Wesley took them around to explore these nooks and create some timeless images. Right after, both families gathered in the lobby near the fireplace for family formals.

Tara and Gary were able to go into their ceremony knowing all the formal photography was complete. Which meant after saying “I do,” they could focus on their guests and partying. The ceremony commenced. The couple shared their vows. Gary caught some laughs as he vowed to tolerate Tara’s reality TV addiction and proceeded to list every. single. show she indulges in. Tara laughed with joy and tearfully made her promises to Gary before sealing them with a kiss.

The couple’s wedding day vision, classy with a little glitz and gold, was executed well by the Marriott staff. The ballroom was transformed from ceremony to reception site as the guests enjoyed hand-passed hors d’oeuvres and an impressive charcuterie table during cocktail hour. The couple each created signature cocktails too! Tara’s “Nuts for Love” was especially intriguing – vodka, pistachio simple syrup and soda water – team SHP may have to try this one during some time off! As guests mingled, they signed the epic canvas “guestbook” and packed up treats to take home to their doggies (gifts from the couple’s dogs, of course!).

Once the ballroom was reopened, the guests were welcomed to take their seats. Each table was tastefully decorated with modern geospheres overflowing with greenery and succulents, which complimented the ballroom very well (that blue sky ceiling tho!). Before dinner, funny and thoughtful speeches were made by the best man and maid of honor and then Tara’s dad took the floor to say some words. He definitely brought tears to some eyes, but set the tone for the rest of the night to have fun and celebrate Tara and Gary’s joyful union. The guests did not disappoint! Once dinner was done, the dance floor started to fill up and the real celebration began complete with competitive dance circles as everyone let loose in honor of the newly weds.

Here are some highlights from Tara & Gary’s best day ever!

Congratulations and best wishes, Mr. & Mrs. Caiola!
