Today we’re talking about the icing on the wedding day!! Those special finishing touches only the best day ever can warrant. The carefully crafted watches, cherished or heirloom jewelry, tie clips, and all sorts of treasures! I’m excited because I love detail photography (as if I wasn’t clear enough about that fact in last year’s details post!). Weddings are so beautiful and meticulously thought out that it’s important to document the details! With thoughtful planning before the big day, we can create a timeline that allows for us to take some time with all the deets. Especially in good light! That’s why we recommend to our brides that they create a wedding day bag – basket, satchel, kit – whatever! have fun with it! The idea is to have all of your goodies together so that it’s easy to hand off to Sarah and/or me to photograph. The icing may or may not include:
Taking some time shortly before the wedding day to gather these items into one convenient “kit” benefits clients twofold. It’s time sufficient for the photographers, which means more awesome images can be made. It also provides an opportunity to reflect on the culmination of planning that went into celebrating falling in love. Here are some icing details we captured in the 2017 season! There’s a surprise at the end so be sure to check them all out. 😀
Surprise!! It’s Sarah getting a lil help with her icing, an heirloom necklace that was her grandmother’s, from her mom and MOH me!! Captured by photographer Tom Harmon. We plan to feature an image from Sarah’s wedding in future installments of the SHP Winter Series, so keep checking back.
And remember to stop by and see us at our booth on January 21st at the Syracuse Wedding Magazine Bridal Show, hosted by the NYS Fairgrounds!!
