SHP Winter Series | Wedding Dresses, Part 1

We’ve got a stylish two-part feature for you this week! Today, we’re celebrating the dress portrait by featuring some of our 2017 brides and their wedding dresses. Check back later tomorrow for the second half of the 2017 images, plus an informative Q & A about wedding dresses with Stephanie Long of Mirror, Mirror Inc.!!

We’ve put together collages that we hope serves as inspiration for future brides and also, brings some joy to our 2017 brides by seeing their pictures collaged together, album style! The Dress Portrait is an integral image to create for our clients’ wedding day photography collection. It sets the scene for the beginning of the day, especially for the story that will become the epic album of their best day ever! Being able to set the dress up in a scene before the bride puts it on allows Sarah to document all the intricate, beautiful details they fell in love with enough to make her say yes, to the dress. For this second annual installment of the SHP Winter Series, we’ve curated a collection of images that highlight The Dress Portrait, the delicate beading, lacework buttons and stitching, and the bride rocking her complete look!

You will also find a list of the designers at the end of the set. We ask our clients to complete a questionnaire about a month before the big day with our primary goal being to create a comprehensive shot list of times, places to be, and people to photograph. However, it also asks for all the lovely details about the fun decisions the couple has made, including wedding colors, dress & suit designers, and vendors.  Having all the details keeps us informed and in tune with our client’s tastes/ preferences. It helps us collect information to share with prospective clients too!

Check out Part 1 of our lovely 2017 brides and keep an eye out for Part 2 featuring Mirror, Mirror Inc. tomorrow!

We’ve had so much fun sharing Sarah’s wedding images during this 2nd annual installment of the SHP Winter Series (we’ve got one more coming at you next week)! Sarah is genuinely in love with love, and reliving her best day ever has been so much fun for both of us (can we relive that day at least once a year, please?). Check out how Tom Harmon immortalized Sarah’s wedding dress:
