Getting the chance to work in Lake Placid was awesome! Team SHP made a weekend trip out of the opportunity, and we enjoyed Mirror Lake the day after Stephanie and Alan’s wedding. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves! We met Stephanie at a Syracuse Weddings Bridal Show at the Oncenter, and when Sarah heard her story, she was eager to make our schedule work for Stephanie’s big day. Before we knew it, we were packing two cars!

Stephanie & Alan chose to marry at Lake Placid Club Resort, which is a golf club and resort that sits on 900 acres of pristine Adirondacks. The ceremony space allowed the Adirondacks to back drop the couple as they exchanged vows. While the reception space was lovely on its own, the couple chose simple and classy autumn accents to decorate the tables for their personal touch.

Once the party started, the guests were welcomed to unique food stations, like a variety of shish kabobs kept warm by slabs of stone, mashed potato martinis and an epic antipasto that had to have been 2.5 feet in diameter! One of our favorite moments of the night was when Alan requested the DJ play “Chain of Fools” by Aretha Franklin and did a tribute dance with the bridesmaids for Stephanie’s father. They wrapped the night up by inviting guests outside for s’mores by the fire under an amazing, starry sky.
