Alicia and Mike’s early autumn wedding day at Bristol Harbour Lodge & Golf Club was absolutely stunning – from every well thought out detail to the view and Alicia’s amazing, sparkling gown (check out their Upper Onondaga Park engagement session from early December 2017, here). We had a lovely time celebrating their best day ever at this gorgeous Finger Lakes venue – what a breathtaking view of Canandaigua Lake!
We started our day scoping the grounds and brainstorming some image ideas before meeting up with Alicia and her ladies in the bridal suite. The bridal suite had a huge mirror in it, and as Alicia had her hair and makeup done, she could look see her ladies in the reflection. It took at least 4 people to steam her epic veil that Sarah was instantly pumped to play with later during portraits! The ladies finished off their looks while sipping on mimosas. Alicia’s mom gave her a ring once owned by her grandmother to represent something old and something blue. Once her look was complete, her mom handed her a stunning Whistlestop bouquet, and she was on her way to meet Mike at the altar.
Meanwhile, Mike’s guys arrived to his room at the lodge one by one in various states of dress. Together, they helped each other put the finishing touches on their JoS. A. Banks suits, including figuring out the best way to fold their burgundy silk pocket squares and pin on their boutonnieres. They may have passed around a bottle of Oban 14 scotch too! Just before leaving to take their places for the ceremony, Mike gathered them all for a group shot to commemorate his final moments as a single man!
The ceremony took place right outside the lodge, overlooking that aforementioned stunning view. The couple created a custom wooden box with their names and wedding date on it, which sat under the ceremony arch as the processional began. During the ceremony, they each locked a love letter within the box, intending not to open it again for many years. We thought this was a sweet way to capture the feelings of their ceremony moments for years to come!
The guests were invited to the reception space for a rustic cheese spread and cocktails while the couple and their families posed for portraits. The guest book was a lot like the custom wooden box from their ceremony! Also made of wood with their names engraved into it, a heart shadow box with a glass front allowed guests to slip their signed wooden pieces into the top of it, “Plinko” style. Accompanying the guestbook was a sweet glass terrarium for cards and a lovely SHP heirloom lay-flat album of their engagement session! Immediately following family portraits, Sarah whisked Mike and Alicia away to explore the beautiful property and photograph them alone. They had a lot of fun and embraced that lovely veil for a few too!
The formal reception started off with Skip Clark introducing the wedding party. They did not disappoint with their fun and silly entrances. Alicia and Mike were introduced as husband and wife for the first time and shared their first dance before making their way to the head table. Their table was right in front of the grand fireplace, decorated with childhood photos of the each of them. An adorable touch! Alicia’s Dad toasted the couple and brought tears to everyone’s eyes as he expressed the greatest comfort a Dad can have – being confident his daughter is with a good man! Mike’s best man brought the laughs when he started his toast off with putting on a custom made t-shirt with Mike’s photo on it – clearly an awesome inside joke. Alicia’s Maids of Honor also showered her and Mike with love as they asked everyone to raise their glasses to toast the newlyweds.
After dinner, guests were treated to hand-rolled cigars if they wished. That’s right – fresh, professionally, hand-rolled cigars!! Lepore Designs photo booth was also there to keep the fun going. Alicia, her mom, and her dance gals had a blast cutting it up on the dance floor. We hope you enjoy some highlights from Alicia and Mike’s stunning, thoughtfully planned best day ever!!
Congratulations and best wishes, Mr. and Mrs. Pannozzo!
