We’re rapidly approaching the midpoint of 2018 (and peak wedding season!), and we’re super excited for the things we have in the works for Team SHP as well as the future of Sarah Heppell Photography. The new year brought a couple of epic changes, including a new website design and a new workspace/studio! At first, it was hard to wrap around the idea of moving locations (even if it was just down two floors in the same building – lol). But! The minute everything was moved into Sarah’s new space, (and after a coat of paint (or 3) and new flooring that Sarah picked out) it was a noticeable upgrade! Even with everything in piles and in total disarray.
The studio has twice as many windows, which means twice as much of that natural light we love so much. Also, the windows face the west, overlooking the creek, and give a great view of a few of the Steve Powers’ murals that are on the railway bridges crossing over West Fayette Street we’ve loved since 2010! It is exciting to be apart of Armory Square and to watch the ever-evolving artistic side of the city of Syracuse.
Sarah made quick work of getting the studio put together with help from a few friends and her hubby (shelf installer and backdrop wall mount extraordinaire!). She has an impressive eye for design that she expresses not only in her photography but in collecting interesting pieces of art and tchotchkes for decorating her spaces.
The new space functions in many ways because it has lots of storage, and Sarah made every inch of it adorable yet useful! It’s an office for Sarah to work at her computer in, a place for Team SHP to meet, eat and brainstorm, a welcoming spot to invite clients to plan and also discuss print products, and last but not least – a studio (thanks to that backdrop wall mount!!).
We are very excited and inspired by the change! Sarah and I got together on a sunny Monday afternoon to snap some images of the space. Check out the new space below and also some links to where you can find some things Sarah used to decorate!
